About Voice Stress Analysis
Voice Stress Analysis (VSA) is a type of lie detector which measures stress in a person's voice. The use of Voice Stress Analysis (VSA) as a lie detector became popular in the late 1970s and 80s. In the 90s the first Computerized VSA (CVSA) systems came to out to the market. The CVSAT is now the truth verification device of choice in the law enforcement community as the number of law enforcement agencies utilizing the CVSAT continues to grow dramatically, proving the viability of the system for twenty-first century crime detection. KishKish, a company which makes various add-ons for Skype, has created a free lie detector which can monitor Skype calls in real time. A display on the screen shows stress levels and turns from green to red when a lie is detected.
For legal reasons the add-on automatically informs the other party they are being monitored. To test the software users can call a Skype user who will automatically play Bill Clinton's speech including "I did not have sexual relations...
How it works
Every time you call or receive a Skype call the KishKish Lie Detector will come to the front.
The first 10 seconds are used to calibrate the system to the general stress level of the speaker. Afterwards, you will see 4 indicators about the stress level of the speaker. The most prominent one is a needle that moves up and down and registers the stress level of the speaker. The second is a meter which measures the stress level from 0 to 100. There is also a green light that changes to red when stress levels are above normal and finally, on top of the display there is a message which indicates the stress level of the speaker ("high", "normal").
